HOW DO I USE JOLTMAIL? You can go directly to our web based email checker. You can also have Windows Live Mail, Outlook or any other IMAP or POP3-capable mail reader check it by following these simple instructions.

NEW PASSWORD ISSUES? Our system folks (the good geeks!) are real hip to security issues and they don't want unauthorized sneaks, snoops & spooks (the bad geeks!) gaining access to your private, personal e-mail. In order to protect you and your valuable mail, they set up the server to only accept a password that meets certain criteria. The password must be a minimum of 6 characters long and there's gotta be at least one number in it somewhere. By the way, you can't use your screen name as part of your password (not that you would ever do something silly like that)!

CAN JOLTMAIL BE FORWARDED? You bet! Our network designers spent many late nights creating the ultimate in e-mail versatility. Any of your JoltMail screen names can be automatically forwarded to another address. Just follow the simple steps listed when you set up the screen name. You can always change your "forwarding settings" by logging in under the "Account Administrator" on the top left-hand corner of this screen. It's that easy!

WHAT ARE THE GROUND RULES ONCE I'M SET UP? Our standard Terms of Service apply to your use of JoltMail. To read them, just click here. Hey, what would the world be like without all those fancy lawyers anyway?

SPAM POLICY We here at mc.net pride ourselves on furiously fast connectivity and to keep it that way, we can't tolerate the slightest bit of spamming. Unsolicited mail ("spam") or junk mail like get-rich-quick schemes or chain letters makes our CTO more than a bit upset. If you're caught sending out spam, then you'll lose your JoltMail and your mc.net account. You're also subject to some seriously nasty reprisals, including large fines. We won't tolerate our users being spammed.

IS THAT ALL? Pretty much, but you should still practice safe e-mailing.

  1. Consider changing your password often. It protects your privacy and it really bugs-out anybody trying to mess with your account.
  2. Don't give your password out. If somebody sends you mail asking for it, send a copy of the request to abuse@mc.net. Nobody at mc.net will ask you for your password, so don't fall for that con!
  3. If you don't know the person that's sending you an attachment, then don't open it. Viruses and Trojan Horses are found everywhere these days. Know your sender!
  4. Don't respond to spam that's in your box. This can make spam worse.
  5. Be careful out there in cyberspace! Things aren't always what they appear to be and that includes people. Being a bit suspicious of folks you don't know is just practicing common sense on the Internet. Don't give out personal information like your address or phone number unless you know the person on the other end. Remember what your mother told you about taking candy from strangers!
